PLAY FOR SIGNS

Collaboration with Megan Whiteford.
Project created while on residency with Schol of Critical Engagement, Copenagen, DK.

A play for the city in three parts. 

Act 1: Exploring the neighbourhood of Skt Kjelds Kvartier, and writing a story based on walks, observations and encounters. Painting this story onto signs while in residence in a shop window. Conversations with visitors informing the storyline. 

Act 2: Installing the story into the backs of arrow street signs throughout the neighbourhood. Moving the signs around over the course of several weeks.

Act 3: A public workshop, where people were invited to choose a sign from the story, and turn it into a flag to take home.
