Artist in residence at the Observatory, an itinerant mobile studio situated at the Winchester Science Centre on top of the South Downs, facing East.

Whilst in residence I sought to experience the landscape through the perspectives of passersby. I spent time sharing my surroundings with people through walking, talking and looking together, exchanging ways of seeing  trying to articulate where we were and how it felt. I made looking machines and joined ramblers groups, collected horizons lines, turned into a sundial, learned about the 60 million year old past of the chalk hills. I built up a collection of reflections and thoughts sourced from the people I met and this was the raw material from which all the work that followed was made.
