WEATHERING

2025

Artist Residency
Zaratan Arte Contemporânea, Lisbon, PT

Residency supported by the Goethe Institute Mobility Grant and the Danish Arts Foundation.
Experimenting with mapping the city’s rhythms and temporalities in relation to the body.

While in residence in Lisbon I explored ideas of place-specific time, with an interest in how to connect the experience of moving through and navigating around the city to observations of its constantly changing weather conditions.

The project has focussed on the grids of the white limestone blocks which make up Lisbon’s pavements. The stones give a specific rhythm to walking around the city; softened by weather and human activity, moulded and polished by daily footsteps.

The residency culminated in an open studio event and artist talk, featuring works in progress and Undercurrents, a risograph print in an edition of 25, created in collaboration with the print studio Stolen Prints.
